Meet Firē…

Sourced from the Sewda Washing Station where sustainable methods blend with careful craftsmanship, these natural beans have an inherent fruity sweetness and complex earthy berry taste. We chose The Sewda Washing Station as our second producer not only because of this flavorful lot, but also because they have NOP and EU Organic certifications, and they support over 500 smallholder farms, ensuring they are compensated well above Fair Trade prices for their harvests.

We worship Ethiopian coffee here at AgriCult, especially from the Guji region, which is renowned for its indigenous varieties that are naturally shade-grown. Farmers in this region often employ agroforestry techniques, combining coffee plants with native trees and diverse crops. This method enhances biodiversity, creates habitats for various wildlife, and preserves soil fertility and ecosystem health, ultimately elevating the quality of the beans.

Called ‘Firē’ (ፍሬ), meaning ‘fruit’ in Amharic, this heirloom variety is a testament to the unique terroir of Guji.

Currently, we offer direct roast-to-order only.
